I was wondering..... what would be the benefits of a Toda Racing 2.2L Stroker Kit for the SR20DET... Toda Racing SR20DET Page If I were to put this onto a stock S13 Black Top SR20DET, what kind of gains could I expect?

It changes the Compression to 8.4:1.... is that better?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

we've all heard the saying, "there's no replacement for displacement." Except for when it comes to forced induction :)Anyway, it add's torque, well, it makes torqu more easily accessable in the powerband, etc... 8.4:1 Compression is VERY turbo friendly, and I think that's around what the stock SR20DET is running, I think it may be a little less, though. If you were to put it on a stock SR20DET, you would get added torque, but for the cost of it, you could get do better things with your money, if that was the only thing you were going to do to it. a FMIC and boost controller come to mind :)

I was also looking at that kit a few days ago. It looks like a nice setup, but the cost is BIG!!! That would be a nice power adder due to increased torque and hp. Face it you can make the engine 10% bigger. But that would be something to do when you cover all of your bases, ie Big turbo, headwork, injectors, fmic, and all of the rest. But that kit definately got me thinking.:D

PS with better intenals and a rebuilt motor you could run more boost also. So you gain good power.

Well, The price is expensive because look what you get with it.... Toda Forged Pistons, Toda Forged Connecting Rods.... Theres $2000 right there if you were to buy them separate. The Crankshaft is stronger, I dont know how much that would cost by itself, but I'm guessing its fairly expensive. Also, you get .2L more displacement! All that pretty much pays for the package itself.

I heard somewhere, that the more Displacement you have, the more power you will gain from mods. I dont know if this is true. I was planning on getting Forged Pistons and Connecting Rods anyway, so why not go all out and get a great quality Toda package that gives me even more?

Can anyone tell me if you really do gain more power with mods with more displacement?

to me, a mod is a mod, they all add power in the end. You can throw on a bigger turbo, but with out a FMIC, it would be pointless to run more boost. If you were going to do that anyway, then the Toda kit is a good idea, as would be the JUN kit. I like JUN for headwork, and I let Toda take the bottom end :)

Hey ACE-where in everett do you live? I live in South Evertt, North Lynnwood, close to 164th,
