working on a turbo kit for my 240 with a stock ka24de.

pretty much have all the little bits and pieces left over from my other builds and its time to decide on which turbo.

i just recieved a FREE garrett TO4E turbo, .70 ar comp, and 1.00 ex

is this way to big? if not what am i looking at spooltime? with a 3" exhaust, no cat, no res, with straight thru muffler.

also plan on trying to reach 260-280whp. any idea how much boost would get me there? from the little info i found with anyone using a turbo anything close to this to4e i assume 7-10psi will get me around there... that is if i can spool it

im new to the nissan game if you cant tell so excuse my lack of knowledge.

You wont see full boost till 4k rpms or more. Considering our redline is at like 5.5k or so, thats a pretty crappy power band. I would take that turbo, sell it, and buy a t3/t4. A t3/t4 50 trim .63 ar is perfect for your power goals, with room to grow. This t3/t4 is really the best all around turbo for our engines. If your certain you only want below 300, a gt32 will give you that at a faster spool than the t3/t4. It also is a great turbo for our engines.

At 10 pounds of boost on that t40e you would push past 300 hp with no problem. Anything under 300 hp and that turbo would be grossly inefficient.

For your goals, you need a smaller turbo.

well again im new to this nissan game. say i run 10lbs and shoot for whatever that gets me even if its a short power range, the ka in bone stock form can take that hp if i run proper management?

fyi all ive built is hondas and just from what ive read so far things are very very different management wise and also engine power output.

If you to go big down the road then keep it. Boost will come on late but depends on what your goals for this car is. Trade someone for a smaller one IMO t3/t4..
