Every car ive owned and pretty much ever want to own is a coupe... I just like smaller quicker agile cars I guess because I do more swurving and such then speeding (tons of cars and traffic.) Anyways to the point I currently own a 2010 Altima coupe 2.5 auto. I got it at 25k in a lease at .01% which was lower than financing. I've always wanted a Z obviously sexy as hell and quick. I've had it 21 monthes and I have 15 left.

Paid- 25k
Left on lease- 5460
Left on car after lease- 12k
Left on car- 17

What I hope to do is get a 2007 for about 13000 I have a bunch around me and put around 3000 in performance parts into it and the left over I could just save for any repairs that might occur.

What In your opinion would u do?
Wait till lease is up and do it or do it now? Or just keep the coupe bcuz it's brand new and upgrade that a slight bit.
Is a used Z the same quality and longevity as a new Altima?

You are seriously asking if a used, 5-year-old Z would have the same quality and longevity as a new Altima? It depends on how the Z was driven. Think about how you'd drive it and assume any used vehicle as been driven just the same or harder. An Altima coupe is not a sports car, but at least yours has a history you know and understand.

Don't jump to a decision you're going to regret later. I would wait until you are out of your current financial obligation and then see what the market is like.

Wow. That is exactly why I have never leased a vehicle. I want to be able to get what I want when I want it.

Wait and get a Z. You will love it. Buy it. I paid $28k for mine new and got like 2.99%. In 36 months he will be all mine....of course by then I will probably be chomping at the bit for a new Z. ;)

Actually kinda yea heh I mean like look at the 90s civics I bet you they still run over most cars even at 100k and of they do have issues it'll be half the cost. Linda different story but yea. I'd consider a Z a luxury kinda sports car. It's got the leather power options nav etc maybe not as clean as Audi or such but still.

I guess what I'm asking is are there more recurring problems with the Altima or the Z. I do really would rather have the 350 but is it more worth while financially to keep a 2 year or a 4 year but upper scale model of the same manufacturer.

Actually unless theirs a hidden fine print leasing is better. At the end of 36 monthes I can just walk away and get something new or finish paying what is left just like when u buy. At any time I can go choose to sell or buy it out right if I want I just have to pay the full price of the car which is the same as buying. The only difference I've noticed is insurance it's like slightly higher but with a .01% interest on my lease I think it's a fair trade. This all my understanding of I'm wrong feel free.

I don't know about long term, but the year I have had mine has been totally problem free. Its a good solid car.

You know your finances better than anybody on this board. You just need to decide which car you want. I can tell you right now that I get nothing but compliments and double takes. I had a G37 coupe before my Z. It wasn't near sporty enough for me.

Why don't you finish out your lease and be saving for a new Z? :dblthumb:

I'm not really worried about finances I mean I have good credit and money isnt a big deal but saving on top of the lease and such is a bit harder. But honestly switching to a used 350 I'll actually save I mean currently 17 left on the lease and if I pick up a good quality 2007 I'm looking around 13k 2008 is a slight jump. I mean I love the car and everyone I see I talk to them and no one complains ever outside the dash but that's known. It's def I want to but is it a good idea to

You only live once kiddo. I once said that if I have to drive to and from work 5 days a week, I'm at least going to enjoy the ride.

:shifter:

There again, I might be a bad influence. You might want to discuss this with someone that has a more mature attitude.

You know that's been my strongest opinion so far. When I was younger I drove even more on trips and such (civic) and my jobs have always been a good 15 miles minimum. But now I've come to think I ought to treat my self I'm in my car the most outside my bed and job. I guess we both seem to have a bad immature side heh.

I was almost finished with a long reply before my power went out. :squint:

I'll try and recreate it later, but for now...

If they are of equal quality it's no big deal, but if they aren't you're going to be paying for the Z fixes out of pocket where Nissan should have you covered for the Altima.
