So, I was just wondering wheather or not I should wrap my new header It looks good the way it is and I didn't want to cover it up. Oh, and yesterday after I put it on, I went for like a five minute test drive, came home and popped the hood, and burnt the living s*** out of my hand. 3rd degree burns aren't fun

ummm, if you burned your hand opening your hood after driving for 5 minutes, you have much bigger problems then wrapping up your header...

If you put your hand on the hot a** header after you drove it, then you have no one to blame but yourself. Header wrap is not to be installed so that you can touch your headers after you drive it. It is to keep the heat in the metal, so that other components, such as, the brake master and brake hoses dont get hot.

What I dont understand is where you thought it would be a good idea to touch an exhaust part, shortly after driving it.

I didn't mean to touch it on purpose , it was pretty dark out and I didn't pay atention as to were I put my hand. And I'm only 15 so lighten up

Ok, on a completly different subject. I just installed a aftermarket steering wheel today and I was wondering what I do to get the air bag light to stop blinking.

I mean, it's not really bothering me. I just wanted to know if it was ok to leave it blinking.

Sure, what's going to happen? You don't have an Airbag anymore so it doesn't really matter.Wrapping the header helps lower under-hood tempatures and is also supposed to help with the exhaust flow. Less heat and more flow is a good thing...

Hold up - don't blame a thing on your age. Sure, you're new to cars, but do not, say anything along the lines of, "Oh I'm xx years old, so leave me be." Doesn't work here. I'm 16, and have had more than enough dumb experiences driving and here on NICO. Why? I either don't think of what other people will view something I post as, or try to minimize my consequences.

Anyways, it's a good idea to wrap it, but I'm not sure you'll really notice any difference (I don't have any experience with exhaust wrap).

Have fun with your car, learn it well, but please don't crash it.

More flow being a good thing is correct, however I'm kind of asking myself... How does wrapping the exhaust manifold/headers help with exhaust flow?

Wrapping the exhaust system maintains hotter exhaust gases, decreasing the density, and allowing the exhaust gas to exit the system faster. By doing this the engine breathes more efficiently, thus allowing the engine to develop more power.
