I know this question has been asked many times over but I was wonderring if you guys would turbo my car... I hae a 95 240sx. 96,000 miles. Do you think it would be worth it. It also is a daily driver for me. I don't want a monster of a car but something that has a kick to it. And yes once in a while kick some a**. currently all I have is intake and I am about to get apexi dual n1. but would you guys rebuild my engine or do you think it can take the turbo on stock internals if I kept the boost at minimal???

thankx

If you stay stock boost on an Nsport kit you'd be fine assume you didn't beat it up all the time. The next question that we need to know from you is how long do you want your engine to last? If you want it to stay reliable for another 100,000 miles, I wouldn't turbo it. If you don't mind if it breaks down in 40k then go for it. : ) It also depends how much you want to spend, if you have lots of money and will eventually want more power, might as well rebuild it. If not, I don't think you'll be too adversely affected... : )

I don't want too much power out of it... I don't have a lot of money to spare. I will definetly have the money down the line but for now I will be very happy with the gains of the turbo. Now if I do end up going with the Nsport kit, how many horses do yu think I would be putting down on the pavement?? I am not a very aggressive driver so I would use the boost sparcely... althought, I prolly will go boost crazy right when I get it.. but it will taper off. how much money is involved in rebuilding KA24de?

another question would be ..let's say I don't want to turbo... what can I do to my car that will give me around 200 rwhp? or you think turboing would be the way to go??

btw...thanx a lot dauntless...

Hey, thats what I'm here for. : )

A turbo kit would be the easiest way, the stage 1 kits put about 235 to the ground. If you do a pretty big N/A build up you can hit 200 horsepower and have it daily drivable, but I think for your purpose a stage 1 kit would be the way to go. Doesn't matter if you go boost crazy, you'll be pushing 7 psi no matter how may times you hit it. : ) I'd drive it around pretty lightly at first to let things settle where they're gonna settle, then it doesn't mater.

Rebuilding a KA would cost between 1 and 2 thousand dollars. A Nsport kit will cost about 4,000. Building your KA N/A to 200 horsepower would be between 2 and 3 thousand. Its up to you though. Personally, I think with the amount of work you're looking at and how much power you want, you might as well go turbo, it will be the easiest. : )

Good luck!

Anything else I can help with?

not unless you have major discount on the turbo kit! :D .. but, that was a major help. Now I just need a shop that can install all that... do you know of any shops in southern cali?

once I get the turbo, will I need to do anything to my ECU or MAF? or does all that come with the kit?

Depends on the turbo kit, but it should be taken care of. : )

Did you know that there's already a Midnight Motorsports? Man, check out their site....http://www.midnightmotorsports.net

I don't mean to crash your idea (i think it's cool) but someone beat you to the name!

Or is it related to you somehow?

1-2 grand to rebuilt the KA?? When you say rebuilt, I assume you mean rebuilding with performance parts? I can't imagine the KA24DE costing 2k to rebuilt....from what I have seen, they go new for 800-900, well....maybe used with low milage.

And as for the turbo kit, 4k...ok.....how much would it run me to have it installed at the two places you mentioned? Please let me know...

I talked to a guy at NOPI in St. Louis who has had his for around 10,000 miles no problems. He's running 9psi on stock internals. It is a well made kit and I think most people go with either nsport or f-max.

I have a f- max kit on my sohc del sol and i love it... I only see two problems with it, they only make it for the s14 and the intercooler is smaller than Nsports.... oh well...I'm not planning on getting a kit just yet so I still can do more reserch...has anybody put a twin turbo set up on a ka yet...later........Z
