i dont know if i want to trade my jeep in and get a sportbike, i mean my jeep is my commuter for my .8 mile drive to work and it gets me everywhere that i want to go.... but i want a sportbike cause they are awesome and i would look like a bad *** on it....

there are 2 major things stopping me:

san antonio drivers suck- all of them

and ive never riden a motorcyle so i would have to learn and i wouldnt have transportation until i get my motorcycle training done as my wife drives the altima to work

i know that this is the altima forums and neither one of these are altimas but you guys are my budies and i want your opinion.

pics of the jeep:http://s279.photobucket.com/al.../jeep/

thanks

I say you buy a used bike for cheap. Learn on it, and se if you enjoy riding. If you like it, sell the jeep and buy a nicer sport bike or cruiser. If it's not your thing, then sell your used beater bike, and if anything you lose a hundred bucks or so, but you'd still have your jeep.

ya but the jeep is prettymuch a beater too and my plan was just to buy it and turn it around but now i love driving it, i bought it for 3000 and am getting offers on craigslist for bikes that are in the 5k to 6k range.

Can you drive stick - I think this is half the battle when learning to ride a motorcycle since the majority of them are manual. I had to buy my bike in order to learn how to ride it - my buddy wasnt willing to let me "learn" on his. I had a Katana 600 my sophomore year of college back in the day. I knew how to drive stick - so it was just matter of learning how to do it on a bike.

If you do go with the bike - be careful - they are of course alot more dangerous than a car - and thats just considering the drivers of cars who intentionally or unintentionally endanger you. More so if you like to "wild out".

Good Luck.

i agree with felv8. buy an used bike about 250-500cc and practice before buying a nice sport bike and keep you jeep for now.

i will fight for the other side here, i do agree though buy a sportbike, but dont buy a small motored one, it would be a HUGE mistake, get the biggest motored one you can, get a gsxr1000-R1-ZX10R/14r- CBR1000, and just dont ride like an idiot, now im sure people would tell you this is a terrible idea and to get a small bike to learn on, well sure but what happens once you've learned how to ride, now you are stuck with this small motored chik bike, and that will suck, your friends will laugh at you, your wife will leave you, and you will lose your job, all because you bought the small motored bike, so do yourself a favor and buy the big one and ride smart.
