where are you guys getting your signal to cut the electric fan on, i was thinking if i splice a wire from the coolant temp sensor and ran it through a relay than it would work but im not 100% on getting a signal from the sensor. Any help would be great.

Some people wire it up to the fuel pump relay so it's always on, or a lot of us use temp sensor switches. Mine has a probe that goes into the radiator and kicks on a certain temperature, which I can control, anywhere from like 160-220 degrees F

No, that will not work. You need to get an electric fan control kit. It consists of a temperature probe that you install in the radiator fins, a relay, and some wiring. Most automotive stores sell them.

I'm on a thermostat controlled relay (bought it at autozone for like $20). Works great with my altima fans... but with my koyo, they rarely turn on when I'm moving. Like yesterday I drove home with my fans disconnected (by accident) and it didn't even get above the 1/2 way temp mark.

I have mine wired on high off of the fuel pump relay in the main fuse block. Works flawlessly.

Mine will be controlled via Megasquirt. I'm gonna be running a Ford Taurus 3.8L Fan.

when my coolant temp reaches whatever tempature I specified in megasquirt it will power the fan and turn them until the coolant temp was brought down to the specified temp.

So I would set my threshold to say 175* F and my Hysteresis to 170* F.

So when coolant reads 175 it turns on and when it reads 170 it turns off.

Mines wired up through SDS. Like megasquirt, when it reaches my fan on temp, they come on, and then when it reaches my fan off temp, they turn off. The ECU activates/deactivates a relay.

i think the small wire in that walkthrough should be better taken care of. Small wires overtime draw lots of power.
