I am trying to decide what to do to meet me goal so i can begin ordering parts little by little. I have a '90 S13 (5 spd) and I want my end result to be around 600rwhp. Now i realize i have much more than the engine to do to make the car structurally capable of handling that kind of power but for now ill stick with the engine. it has a bone stock Ka-24e and im not sure if it is capable of that kind of power. and if it is I fear lack of aftermarket support will make it difficult. Now the two choices I was looking into are the SR20DET and something from the RB series such as an RB25DET or RB26DETT. Now I know the SR20 has TONS of aftermarket support but im not entirely sure if it can produce that amount of power and be reliable. The RB engines on the other hand I know are capable of the power but nothing involving them is cheap whatsoever. and I fear that trying to get parts for them will be like pulling teeth. I want to keep it japanese if possible. I'm just wondering what motor will be able to meet my goal and be semi reliable. I WILL NOT be putting an LS motor in it like so many people have told me I should do. I feel like it ruins the car. thanks in advance for any feedback anyone can supply.
