well my 92' 240sx died. a blown clutch that resulted (i think) into a blown head gasket. i was a few blocks from my house and the clutch all but gave away so i decided to go ahead and try to get home but i had to keep at about 4500-5000 RPM to keep a steady 10 MPH and a block from my house the exhaust started blowing tons of smoke and the engine ran really ruff. like when you have a fouled plug. ANYHOW, so ive got like $1500-1800 to spend so the question is... should i spend the money to rebuild the KA24de OR should i buy a CA18det from a junk yard? I do all my own mechanic work so that cost isnt a factor but i hate to part with the KA cuz i know it inside and out but i want more horse and have never had a turbo "and NO i cant afford an SR so dont mention it". But if i rebuild the KA i could add a little horse with internals. anyhow any thoughts? also was the CA18det offered in the States or only Canada??? my Chilton manual includes it as a Sentra engine but on Ebay people sell them a "JDM". can i get one from a junkyard here in the states or Canada? THANK YOU, sorry about the wordiness.

The RWD CA18DET was never sold in the US or Canada. Please seach the KAT and CA18DET section for information.

If anybody turns this into a CA18 vs KAT thread I will be very pissed...

i don't remember the CA being offered in any sentras, but even still, it would be a FWD version as opposed to RWD which is what you would obviously need
