To save others in a very big headach!

hey guys thought you might find this useful. THE PROBLEM i was having was that some times i would turn on the headlights and find that all the dash lights were off. after dealing wit it for about 3 weeks: this was and on and off problem i got mad and yes i know its bad but i hit the dash pretty hard LIGHTS CAME ON!!!!. so yes something must be loose. i went digging into the dash cluster and started messing with the plugs found that the plug to the dimmer wheel was connected firmly but when i giggled it the lights would flicker so i couldnt see why the plug was firmly pluged in but yet still flickering after talking to my dad he told me about how he found a broken soder (sorry bad spelling) on my moms ac unit on the back (her ac would come on and off) so i took the dimer wheel apart really easy and looked at the card its self and oh yes broken soder were the pins meet the card the single one was broken quick soder and so far 2 weeks later no problem and also noticed that now the lights dim more smoothly then before as they would kind of jump around when moveing the wheel i uploaded a pic of the card cant see the break but it shows the area that i am talking about. hope this might save some one a headach. i say headach because i found this problem after about 4 hours of hunting.
