to people that have owned both the hks hipower & apexi n1,
which one did you like more? did you run it on a stock/turbo KA? or an SR? which diameter piping did you have?

which exhaust was louder? and most importantly ..which one do you think sounded better ?

I have a stock KA and these are the two exhausts I have narrowed it down to.

from my searches it looks like its pretty even on which one is liked more. but i wanted to get input from those of u who have owned both

thanks

Ive only had the HKS and i love its tone and how damn good it sounds north of 5000 rev's, but
My cousin had the apexi and said he liked mine better (the sound/fitment for some reason) so idk? and both were on stock KaE's.. now mines built with a header to test pipe and it sounds crazy mean.

Never owned the Apexi, but I decided on the HKS Hi Power for my 96 by watching tons of clips on youtube. I'm running an OBX header, test pipe, and the 2.5in piping, and it sounds awesome. Wouldn't trade it for any other exhaust system.

got the hks high power that came with the car bran new when i bought it. sounds quiet and not ricey. good rumble to it. Has stock exhaust manifold and down-pipe and cat. Does sound good at 5k+.....my timing chain guide is broken so I don't want to keep revin her. Slight chain slap during idle. The Apexi sounds great with RB swaps and gives it more of a louder raspy tone like how all RB's should sound. But on a ka24, it sounds a little higher pitched rather than a grumble at lower rev's. HKS for KA24's and SR20's. Apexi for RB, 1J or 2JZGTE motors. Most importantly during highway cruse, the hks high power doesn't sound annoying or loud. Very street-able and have not gotten pulled over yet.
