Well, the time has finally come. I am ready to get the sil40 painted but I have a dilema. You see, I have this shiny VIS carbon fiber hood that looks oh so pretty unpainted. But, I can't decide whether or not I want to paint it. It wouldn't be covered completely, it would be a two-tone. The two sides up until the raised center would be color while the middle stays unpainted carbon fiber. The car will be getting spayed OEM GRAY btw.

If you can't imagine in your brain how that looks, here's some pics. It might not be the right color, but you kinda get the idea.

idahotuner's sil40 (two-tone)

Idk who (unpainted)

Btw once again, it's going to be OEM gray. The wheels it's gonna have are the ones in my sig, and it will have the same bumper/lights as idahotuner plus a gtr grill. Comment if you have any other suggestions!

Don't Think CF Would Really Be Noticeable On A Grey Car.

Leave It Alone I Say.

Paint the hood the same color as the car.

No gay two tone, none of that raw mess.

Simple and clean.

That "two tone" on the hood looks dumb imo. Either paint the whole hood or leave the whole hood unpainted. I say paint it one solid color but I voted leave it alone since there was no option for that.

Nah, if I wanted to paint the whole thing, I would have just gotten an oem silvia hood. That was the original plan, but I got this hood for a deal too good to pass up.

Btw, thanks for all the comments. More are always welcome!

I voted two tone but it depends on if you are going to have anything else black. maybe mirrors, a lip, door pillars, wtv you think.

Paint it, actually do something different with the 240...if not, then just get in line with every other 240 owner out there.

Imo, idahotuners car with that two-tone paint looks good.

the blue color with the block top is nice bor, just leave it. i would either get the top blue and leave the cf hood alone, its already C/F who'd want to change that, thats why you got a C/f hood to begin with... i think!

yeah but it won't really be sleeper either way, since not all of the cf will be painted

Only an idiot would paint half the hood.

At LEAST don't paint it at all.

But it would be best if you paint the whole thing.

People who insist on leaving carbon fiber visible just to show their modz are dumb.

The car is getting painted oem 240sx gray. There is no blue whatsoever. The pic of idahotuner's blue sil40 was just to show the paint scheme.

Anyways, any more opinions? I'm starting to lean more to no painting it.

Thx for the insight. Anyone who doesn't share your opinion is clearly an "idiot" or "dumb."

Leave it bare. It will look nice with the rest of the paint-scheme.
