If you're insistent on buying in the local area, you probably won't do better than MSRP (for now). You could try going through cars.com or similar sites, configure the car how you want it, then pick 2-3 dealers to see what they'll do. I'm sure you've read my experiences, and I paid full MSRP. What Jim Coleman told me was, Internet sales get the car for MSRP, while walk-ins pay a mark-up (or they try to get them to, anyway).
You could always go much further out - say, Ohio or Indiana - and see what kind of quote they'll give on the G37. But then you have to pick the car up, or arrange to have it transported.
Re: the nickel/dime stuff. My car shows cargo net on the sticker from the factory, so I paid for that. The locking lug nuts were included gratis from the dealer. As far as mud flaps, sometimes they're on the car from the factory and sometimes the dealer adds them.
The other area you might make up some $$ is in the trade, if you're trading in. Get quotes from several dealers - even makes/models you're not interested in. And CarMax, of course. Then keep those quotes for reference, and play their offer against the other offers. If they suggest you go elsewhere, remind them that they run the risk of losing a sale. Usually, if they have considerable time spent negotiating with you at this point, they don't want to lose the sale and will be more willing to offer more on the trade (my experience).
