Ok here is the deal. I have a S14 a couple CAs and many resource for parts and such. I am trying to build a BIG JUICE CA Since the whole Battle between KA vs SR in my area of Florida I figured I shut a few people up.

My goal is to make and break 500 RWHP! On Pump Gas or C16 which ever is needed. NO JUICE if I can help it. I will be running a stand alone I dont know if it will be a SDS as DEE recomended to me or if it will be a HalTec since got Crispeed to wire either and he is a HUGE HalTec Guy.

Now some questions: That I searched and could not find.

1: Bore/Storke Is it possible to make the CA18 a CA20? If so what do I need?

2: Can the transmission handle that kind of power?

3: What is the most RWHP made so far?

This car is going to be my daily driver. As for Lumpy cams and easy to drive I dont mind. IT can cam out all it pleases. I dont plan on getting to many runs out of it. It will be more of a Dyno queen till I can afford another daily car so I can bring this one to the track. ANY SUGGESTIONS OR INSIGHT IS GREAT AND IS WELCOME! PLEASE

the most 've seen is...

BHP 532.6@hubs @28psi Torque 484lb/ft From stock block using 1mm oversize, steel crank but standard stroke.

transmission will struggle, S13 CA and S14 SR boxes tend to die ~ the 400RWHP figure. some more, some less.

There are a couple of guys running ~420RWBHP on stock boxes, but one guy is on his 3rd and the other had hius peened and etched.

You just want to break 500whp? That's no fun when you're trying to make a point to your nissan 4 cylinder siblings. Both of those engines seem to get real funky when you're forcing big boost through them. They are both chain driven, but the KA seem to be the one that breaks the most. The idea is to make that type of power and keep the car/engine together. Pull the headgasket on the CA18 and you probably can force 500+whp through the stock pistons. It all depends on your fuel and timing set-ups as well as the type of turbocharger you use. I have an engine already built for all out power and it cost me close to an hefty $8,000 with the best of the best stuff. You'll need solid lifters, forged rods, headstuds, crank studs, forged pistons, high performance valve springs, big cams, big injectors, big turbo, efficient intercooler, custom header manifold, metal headgasket, custom intake manifold, competent engine management, mad machine work, major valve work, etc, etc, etc.

and yes, it is possible to make a ca18 into a ca20. tomei sells the stroker kit (or is it jun?). you can also get a new gear set for your transmission from nissan motorsports if you need it. i think you can do it, it shouldnt pose too much of a problem as long as the funds are there.

You can make a CA20DET easily enough without buying a kit.my mate has done just that.CA20 bottom end with a CA18DET head!few things you gotta move around and play with......but not that difficult.he's still making the inlet and exhaust manifolds for it.....but with the GT25/40 and 38mm gate, he's expectling around 350HP at the wheels?

A gt2540 will make 400 at the wheels on a CA, possibly more.

Both Jun and Tomei do stroker kits I think, Giken do gearsets that will take the power, think they have to go into the S14/SR box though.Didn't know Nismo did gearsets.Giken is very well proven at 550-600.
