my turbo seems to be falling on its face and its only boost 5 psi. brand new turbo, used magnacore 8.5mm wires, denso iridium 2 steps colder than stock and it seems to die right off. the plugs are at .22 right now could that make it just die off like that. it barely even moves. also, i have a real tial 38mm external WG, i should be hooking up the port on the side correct? what is the top one for?

Generally, you want the highest gap possible without it being blown out.....0.022 is way too low for 5 psi. I'd keep stock gap for 5 psi. I had .032 for 15 psi...Just gap them to stock and see how it runs (if you're not going past 5 psi for a while).

just try .034" for just 5 psi. .022" (which i think you meant to type) would be like for running 24+ psi.

if it feels like you are hitting a wall, then its prolly other issues like boost leak, bad coil, too rich, etc.

You can use an EBC and it hits the top port with boost to close the wastegate when boost begins to go down. It uses this method to keep boost very steady.

i just put an safc and my wideband in a s14 ka-t from new york that was running a jwt ecu. it was running so rich in boost the car was falling on its face sputter. seemed like it was blowing out spark but i leaned it out and it was pulling great

I've tested the plug gap quite a bit myself. This is my results with Nology wires and coil:

0.040 - up to 9PSI0.030 - up to 16PSI0.026 - well... I blew the engine @ 18PSI so I now it should be able to hold 18PSI without blowing.
