I haven't seen too much good information about keeping the power steering when swapping an RB into an s13/s14.

All I've seen is "you'll need custom lines"...

I don't own a 240, but I will very soon. So pardon my inability to look at the power steering rack myself.

What kind of custom lines? Are they solid lines that need to be done by a professional or could I use some custom lines similar to these?

I guess the one question I have.. is this a DIY job? :)

Just so you know, the only issue with PS is when keeping the RB26 twin turbos...no problems with the RB25, RB20, and the RB26 with a single turbo upgrade...oh and i'd like to know more about it too...

nothing needs to be custom or changed. the stock lines bolt to the RB's pump. just have to re-arrange some of the lines.

yeah for the r33 member, you have to pull and bend to get them to form and fit onto the x-member. it was fairly easy, about 15 min.

OK, i was all geared up to go the RB route, but now im not so sure. I kno it seems nieve, but I thought this was gonna be a bolt up affair, use the RB Xmember, RB motor mounts, shifter would be a little forward. Now I see that a little custom work may be involved and it may cost more than I had originally inteded. Please help, tell me what custom work or difficulties are involved with installing a RB engine.( not a 26 TT tho)

Where does the A31 crossmember stand in all of this? I heard it's a "better fit" to use. Does that mean the shifter will be aligned better? PS lines wont need readjustment? or what?

Using the A31 crossmember will allow your engine to sit lower, however the shifter will still be slightly forward...

Bump, for some HICAS information. What to do with the other port on the pump.
