Hi NICO Club members. I am new to the forum but I have loved Infiniti and Nissans for a long time. I have a 2004 Brilliant Silver Metallic M45 with Willow Interior and I am torn on keeping or selling it. I have never had any major issues with this car and I am the second owner. I realize this is a rare car and feedback and input would be appreciated.

Nice car!
and welcome to Nico! :yesnod

How much money do you have in it for maintenance?
What did you all do it it that a possible buyer might assume was not taken care of?
is it just the pics or are the headlights a bit faded?
Polishing those may increase its appeal to buyers and also it's appeal to you to keep it :)

Great questions, not driving it much so maintenance is not really expensive. Tires are relatively new with low mileage on them so that is not an upcoming expense. I can only think of two items that need to be repaired and neither are mechanical. Mechanically it is sound. The driver's side seat rail is broken so the seat will not adjust but the motor is working. The other issue is there is a scrape on the driver's back quarter panel... see photo.

Just realized I did not address the headlight question. They are a bit cloudy. Do you have a solution for fixing the cloudy appearance? They are plastic.

NIce M. I recognize the prices for selling used cars is good quite now, but that also means anything you buy is going to cost a lot more. That said, if your M runs well, doesn't cost that much to keep and you enjoy driving it, then I think you should consider keeping it. M45's are great cars, and they were around for just 2 years. I don't believe it's considered collectible...yet. But in the future? Sure, it'll eventually become a minor collectible. I'm not sure what kind of shape your G35 is in, but, I'd recommend using a "beater" for daily driving, perhaps a small SUV or pickup, and use that nice M for weekends and/or fun rides.

Thank you Bubba1. I was leaning toward keeping it but I don't have a garage. I have three other cars including the 2006 G35 which has under 95K miles and it is a 5-speed sedan. The M45 has 174,134 so I am keeping the G35. That car is so fun to drive with the touring and sports package! I love the M45 and it is beautiful which is why I hate to sell it. It is fantastic on the highway and every time I take it out, someone wants to know what kind of car it is. I just don't need four cars. I would love for it to go to someone who can appreciate it as much as we have.

Mac knows I was kidding, no worries. BUT...

I do still wish I had my '67 Tri-Power Goat. My '79 CVCC Honda Accord. My '84 LeBaron vert. Wouldn't have sold any of them if I'd known then what I know now.

Measure twice, cut once. ;)

PalmerWMD I have a G35 in Caribean Blue but it is a 2006 sedan with manual transmission. It has both sport and touring packages. I bought it new off the showroom floor in February 2007. Who else wanted a manual sedan? :chuckle:

That's a great looking car. Since it sounds like its just an extra vehicle for you, I'd definitely see how much you can fetch for it (or one of your other vehicles) in this overpriced market.
A headlight buff, wash and wax, and fixing that seat rail issue will go a long way.

Keep it. It might come in handy later on down the road. Just make sure you drive it once in a while. Or just use it as a weekend car.

Thanks, PapaSmurf2k3! I did post it here. It is in the classified section. I am not in a hurry to let it go but someone will appreciate it for its unique qualities I am happy to let it go. It has been washed and waxed in the photos and I am considering fixing the seat. I appreciate your input.

Thanks, I did list it in the NICO classified section. I am not in a hurry to sell so we will see what happens. It is a beautiful car and mechanically sound with nothing other than oil changes coming up.
