I would definatly pin it, if for no other reason then saftey. If the carbon fiber ever breaks down, it tends to hide the damage under the surface and eventually fail all at once. Could be dangerous at high speeds.

Carbon fiber hoods require hoodpins. End of discussion.

If the latch fails, you will end up with half a hood/people trying to sue you because of defective equipment/a ****ed up car.

hood pins look tacky in my opinion, but if you can't get it to lock well, then pin it.

That's what I always heard. Not an "image" thing but a safety issue. I'd pin it.

usually the the bar that locks into place ends up breaking anyways. I would use hood pins for saftey precautions. Nick

If my story isn't enough to convince you that you need pins, then you shouldn't be driving.

damn...i've seen so many fc's w/carbon fiber or fiber/glass w/o pins and not one horror story.. Must be the mechanism or aerodynamics...or quality of hood or installation...

i just don't see the need, seeing how many cars have al. hoods out there

I'd say pin it too, My friend had a fiberglass hood on his honda (Yeah a Honda) and on the freeway going about 60 the hood latch just released and his hood flew up, shattered his windshield, dented his roof, and broke the hood in half ( still in one piece though)

Not that hard, but if you screw up, you've ****ed up your hood. Just make sure to measure correctly.

eh measure twice (or more) and drill once! and from a personal note, do not allow drunk redneck "kin folk" to install it no matter what they tell you.
