So I have this 1992 Infiniti G20. For a while i've been hearing some crazy rumors about my model specifically having the potential to be a world class touring car. Fitting turbo's and all these other goodies. I can't find ANY aftermarket parts anywhere. But I do have some sorta kinship with the car for some reason, and really wanted to do an engine swap for it. I was considering the new 2004 sentra SE-R. Or something more along the classic lines of a 1994 240sx. Does anyone know if either of these will fit?? Cause my bay is sorta cramped....

I wanna be the first one to have a ridiculously well tuned and modded infiniti g20. I figure the good people that come to this site would be able to help me out.

I'd head on over to Infiniti general or the SR20 and QR25 forums (both of the latter are in the sentra forums, I beleive). I'm not sure if a QR25 would fit in your bay...I've heard its a lot bigger than your SR20, though.

Anyhow...welcome to NICO. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out with this...if it's possible, I'm sure its been done before, and someone hear has heard the details.

you wouldn't be the first...

well sorta...there was member who had a "whatever the foreign market name of the G20 is" that was a very cool car and I believe he used it quite a bit for racing...

I can't remember who he was now, but man it was a sweet car...

Do it anyway though, those little suckers rock.

Yeah..the car kicks ***, and my engine is as smooth as butter right now. But it just doesn't pack that whallop ya know? After driving a g35 coupe, I longed for that same slam backed into your chair smile I've had on my face. After a little more research, the KA20DE also seems like a possible choice...but I don't know from which car or year I should pull it. OH MASTER OF G20'S!!! PLEASE FIND THIS POST!!!!

does anyone even know if body kits or something exist for my car? It looks so...family like...

I don't think ANY four banger is going to give a slam back into the seat anywhere near what the VQ can do, but you can still do some incredible stuff with the G20.

I'm not sure if a KA would fit in a G20. If it does fit, I'd recoment a KA24 from a 1991 oe 1992 240sx. Supposedly, they had more aggressive cams than later years. I'm not sure about cams on the pickups.

Well...I may not get the same slam as a VQ..unless...I add a li'l underhanded kick such as ZEX...heheheheh...but i doubt i can even fit that into my dong sized car -.-;; if a KA won't fit, then I'm stuck with only being able to use SR's. and i think they don't get any bigger than the 20...unless i were to do some bore and stroke work....which i really don't feel like doing. well if i can't make it so much of a powerhouse...maybe i can make it an ultimate handeling/acceleration machine?

ah, the sr is a fine motor anyway and you don't have to bother with swapping anything...

we'd probably look at you strange for taking an SR out and putting in a ka anyway...seems so backwards around here...

If know my USDM Infiniti to JDM Nissan conversions, the G20 is a Nissan Primera. They are nice cars here. They can be tuned pretty decently even in the N/A form. There was a guy down in Yokosuka that had one and swapped an SR20det from a Pulsar GTi-R. His Primera came with a 5sp and the transmission bolted up to it. So, you could do the SR swap, get a mid 90's 200sx SE-R transmission and bolt everything up. And if you wanted a KA motor, find a 92-01 (I think that was the last year) Altima twin cam. I had a 97 with an auto, and it did quite nice, even though it was rated at a whompin 155hp at the flywheel. Just some options for ya. And pdm-racing.com makes some good cams for the KA. Had one in my SOHC 240 and it was HOT!
