Well if both avenues I'm going through to get my 370's through fail I'll get some 480's. Well, actually my friend has 2 spare RX7 550's. I'm gonna say whatever Florida240SX is willing to tune I'm going to go with lol.

For the oil feed, do I need this restrictor plate? I've looked into the oil FAQ's a bit and I saw some info about blowing out seals and whatnot. Don't want that.

I would go with 10.1 cr pistons if your going N/A and if you wanna go turbo go with low cr. Arias offer 8.8, I would recommend anything under 9.0.

So, my wastegate won't mount any way other than upside down. the diaphragm area hits the exhaust housing going to have to do a real nice curve on that dump tube.though I'll see if I can get a tial that will fit there.

any problems with an upside down wastegate? it's just dumping air, and no flames shoot out or anything. I've seen them mounted horizontally etc.

The wastegate could care less how it sits on the mani.

As far as the restrictor question goes.. If you have a cheap turbo run a restrictor or the oil pressure pumping beast known as the Ka will wreck your aft seal on the turbo. If your running a Garrett unit or equivalant you should be fine. Your supposed to use a restrictor as a last resort, if over oiling becomes a problem. If you notice that you start blowing puffs of smoke or whatever out your exhaust, or that your IC pipes have some oil in it, run a restrictor.

You want the most amount of oil possible to be flowing through your turbo to cool it.

Yeah, it's not a garrett or upscale turbo. just want to make sure that the restriction isn't too small.I've seen that oil pressure greater than 50psi is when you need to run the restrictor plate.

I think its easier to use a in line reducer, those tiny holed reducers are for BB turbos. For a shaft driven turbo you want a .60 something hole. Check out the sticky under DIY oil lines, and looking at the part numbers for McMaster - Carr find t3 reducer. Its like 10-15 bucks shipped from them.

EDIT - Ohh wait i see you actually have one of those restrictor plates. You dont want to use that at all, that is for a BB turbo. Using that would keep your turbo pressurized, but not enough oil would flow through causing excessive heat. You need a .60(something) inline reducer.

Or you could drill out the one you have..

480sx.. that actually is the proper sized oil restrictor. It's .063 you want which is 1/16 of an inch.

a GT BB turbo needs ~1mm restrictor. or .039 hole.

Just adding: 370cc were maxing out on an SR20 (note : smaller engine) at 11psi. dangerously lean 14.8ish AFRs. Stock turbo. Stock fuel pressure. That is bad for a stock KA. Even with an fmu you're looking at 10 psi max.
