Hey guys!

I'm new to the forum, and nissan/infiniti in general.
I have been looking at various sports car for past year or so and have narrowed the pick down to:
2011 Ford Mustang GT Premium
Used Infiniti G37
Nissan 370z
and a Used Chevrolet Corvette

I am looking for 19/26 gas mileage and prefer a manual transmission. My price range is $30k to $35k.

Just today, I went and saw a used 2008 Infiniti G37s sports coupe with the 6 speed manual transmission and 32,655 miles. They are selling it for $26,500 which sounds like a good deal. I'm trading in my 09 Civic Si with 34,000 miles which they are giving me $15,250 for...
However the car has been in a rear collision and had a bad battery and tire which they will replace. The car looks fine and drove fairly well though the transmission was sticky and clutch was slightly rough. The tires are fairly worn as well. The car was repaired after the collision.

Here's a link to the car: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.js ... MP=usedInv

Do you think I should go for it or save up for a new mustang or 370z?

New mustang GT or 370 if you don't care for the +2 seats. The new GT is fantastic performer. But I suggest you to go out and testdrive all see which one you like. You might end up not liking one. Infiniti's manual deffinitelly far from refined.

I would never buy a car what Was involved in accident.

I was very dissappointed with the used manual transmission cars that were available when I was looking for a G35. Granted, the used market is what it is, expecially when you are looking to move quickly.

Most of the MT cars I drove (out of 7 total test drives) appeared to be used hard, wrecked, or modified (like a big stereos...), so I would pass immediately. I just happened to walk into an AT deal where the owner was being deployed and wanted to move the car. Really did not want an AT, but I have been happy with it.

I am a big fan of drving alot of cars before signing the deal. Big difference between new and used. Ford supposedly has cleaned up their act, the new Mustang may be a good deal (although end of December would have been better).

Good luck.

Corvettes are nice, but expect a lot of mechanical issues. My hubby had a '99 and LOTS of problems with it. Got great gas mileage.

G's drive great. I'm sure the Mustang is a nice car...believe it or not, I have never driven one. I would doubt it would drive as good as a G. They have such a nice feel.

I have toyed with the ideal of selling my G. If you would be interested, I would be glad to talk to you. Mine is an auto though. I test drove a manual and being as short as I am and having to have the seat up, my arm hit the back of the seat when shifting into 2nd and 4th. It was something I wasn't willing to deal with all the time.

Yep, I agree. The G is a much better driving auto compared to the new Mustang.
BUT, the 5.0 is awesome!
IF I were to get a new 5.0 it would immediately be getting new springs....too floaty as is!!!
If you are used to the tightness of the SI, you would have to look beyond how the 5.0 handles out of the box.

PLUS the price on the banged up 08 is too high.
I recently saw a one owner 08 G37S MT w/12K miles for sale here at $25K and it was in NEW condition.

The Infiniti would probably handle way better than any Mustang but if all you enjoy is straight out speed, that might be the car for you. The infiniti is reliable, fast and it handles well. If you ask me, the Mustang and the Infiniti don't even compare.

I would keep looking for a newer g37 with low miles...but if you're looking at a vette and a z, then you're probably looking for more of a sports car than luxury car...

My 2005 G35 coupe was a compromise from a Z06 vette.
