2005 Chevy Colorado.
The thing is, I am not a hugh Chevy fan, after owner several in the past and then owning my Sentra and Tacoma, I saw the light. Now of course most of the ones I owned were from the dark ages of Chevrolet and they have come up in quality a lot. And I did like driving his truck the one time he let me. But my dad has this thing with cars, he only buys the base model. I swore I wouldnt get another truck unless it was an extended cab 4x4. I am not even sure if his has power windows. A minor inconvience but the lack of an extended cab sorta sucks. I mean I guess I dont need the extended cab, I have sorta gotten out of the base system phase, so I really dont need a set of twelves back there anymore. The Tacoma had a nice box built for four twelve in it's extended cab.
At least pop did get the I5 engine, so she has a bit more go then the 4 banger. $15,300 is his pay off, and it only has like 11,000 miles. And it is is awesome shape. It sits under the car port most of the time and he drives his old POS 85 S10. I know I can go through the local government credit union and get a good rate and payment drafted out of my check each week. So I wouldnt have to worry about making payments and so forth.
So I am not sure what to do. I have really been wanting to get something because the Metro although good on gas, is kinda a crapper of a vehicle. I was thinking more along the lines of an older 4x4 or my friend's step dad bought a diesel that needs the transmission replaced (he's a retired boat, airplane, heavy eguipment, and standard car mechanic so I know it will be fixed right). Good guy to know.
So what do you think. Go for my pop's truck, help him out of a bind, and have a nice looking truck. Or let pop's figure out someone else to sale it too, and go the cheap route. I want to get a house this year, and I should still be able to if I get the truck, but I wont be able to afford to go out and blow money the way I do anymore. Or at least for the next four or five years. Man, I just dont know...
