Quick opinion check.

I have an '04 G35x with ~94k miles on it - and I really do like the car. I have an opportunity to buy a friend's low mileage (43k) '07 G35x for a bit below book. I prefer to keep cars for a long time, but thought this might be a good opportunity to upgrade (I wouldn't otherwise be getting a new car). I've done a few things to mine (Pop Charger, grounding kit, clear corner lights), but the '07 has Nav, tinted windows, a stereo that is much better, and it gets a bit better mileage than mine.

Thoughts?

Can you trade your mods to the other car?

Here is my $.02

From a strickly economic standpoint it is probably not worth it.

How much out of pocket will this deal cost you?

I assume your current 04 is paid for. Why not just save up for a brand new one in a year or two?
You should be good for 200k miles on your 04. I can't remember if the 07 has a 7 speed auto. If not you will not see better mileage with another 5 speed auto.

Maybe the grounding kit. The '04 G has a VQ35DE (single TB) whereas the G37 is a VQ37VHR (dual TB) so his other parts won't work.

The next gen will be released in sedan form late 2014 as a 2015 model. Coupe will follow afterward.

Thanks everyone for the good food for thought. Tough call. '04 is paid for, and I'd have to throw down some extra $ for the new(er) G.

If what you have is paid for, I would start saving $$$$ and get me a new one.
