so i just recently picked up 240sx SOHC 90' auto. I went to the pick'n'pull salvage and grabbed a DOHC block with a brand new head, 5 speed, LSD, 2 Tokito struts and 2 KYB struts... all for a steal of a deal--under $400. so i got the engine home, stripped the block, and noticed the pistons have wear marks on them. does this mean that i need to get it bored? i plan to do a re-build, swap and then turbo by end of the summer.

well if the cylinder walls r scratched then it will have to be bored a little bit to get the scratches out so the motor will have compression but if there not scratched then u wont have to.

my two cents, you should bore it anyway. it wont hurt, itll make sure its in proper condition, and then itll be a little bigger than 2.4

i bored mine out before i swapped it into my pignose, planning to go boost.
