To anyone who is thinking of the 5 speed swap and debating it...Go for it. I just did mine yesterday and finished all the wiring today. The car feels like a totally different vehicle.

Just a little info to think about if you are going to do it:

Forget the hardline going from the master to the slave cylinder. Get a stainless line and run it straight the beeding of the lines will be soooooo much easier.

Don't cut your AT harness you may need a few wires from it. I needed the wires going from the starter to the oil pressure sending unit to the plug directly under the fuse box in order to get my car to start.

Before you do the swap make sure your bolts out of your AT will be long enough to reach through the holes in the 5 speed into the motor, I had to get some about an inch longer. Oh yeah and a lot of extentions for your ratchet!

When lining up the transmission with the motor keep it in gear so you can turn the driveshaft and line up the spleens and the transmission will just sliiiiiiiiiide in.

I did this in an 96 s14 with a 95 transmission. Oh and by the way I hear alot of people say that their cruise doesn't work after MINE DOES!!!!! If anyone has a question about anything I will be glad to help just email me [email protected]

Once again it was totally worth it,but I couldn't have done it without help from NICO. Thanks everyone!!!!!

Well I went halfs with a friend of mine on a running parts car. he needed the motor I the transmission and A/C. That cost 425 then the fluids was like 15 bucks at O..O..O..Oreileys. I actually did all of the work at the hobby shop on base, they have an auto shop with lifts and all the tools you need. The lift was 6 bucks an hr....so I ended up forking over 78 bucks there, well worth it to be able to get up under that Mutha and work on it. So whats that? about 520 bucks and some scraped up knuckles? Well worth it.

Oh just a heads up if you plan on doing the swap make sure ALL of your wiring is 100% My car just took a sh*# on the side of the road. 10 bucks says its the wire going to the alternator is loose.

Oh another side note to wayfastwhitey I know a wonderful land that I like to call the junkyard in Crestveiw about 40 min. from here that has a 92 240 with a 5speed the guy wants 700 for the whole car BUT it has a blown motor. If you are interseted give me a call 225-276-1544 and I can show you how to get there

yeah it is a LA number I just moved from BR in November...let me tell you the beach is sooo much better!

Oh to everyone: I guess I owe everyone on this forum 10 bucks because I had bet the wire going to the alternator was loose...no it was hooked up wrong, I had it going to a ground instead of the battery , don't know what I was thinking
