I finally finished up putting in my rb25det in my s13!!! All the wiring is hooked up, fluids, hoses etc..... when it came time to hook up the battery I did,........and the starter was making this weird noise without anyone even turning the key . The starter is not cranking, its just making a weird noise and the solenoid gets really hot! When I go into the car it doesnt do anything, no crank, nothing! If it is the starter thats f**ked up, do u guys know a replacement part number at my local All Parts store I could use? Anything, any ideas? Help

most likely the wiring, or a signal wire wire shorted with out the solinode engaging, whatever no time at work to think about it.

But if you need it rebuilt I can have it done.

I had my starter re-built at my local battery store.

Take your starter off put it in a vice and test it on the bench. That will let you know if its the actual starter or a wiring problem.
