Well, I made it here. Ive been offline for quite some time, but I do my part in getting the facts straight. What am I to tell you guys whove been waiting for the next gtr like me for a few years, well I recently got some new information which I sent to mark thorugh his website(r35gtr.com) but I guess he didn't read it, as I asked him to forward it back to me some 2-3 weeks ago. Anyways, from what I know now, is that the name is going into debate at nissan. Just a week ago they brought up "V-36" into the mix, which hinders things a bit. It will go as Skyline V36 and possibly in the States when it crosses over as G36, the regular model, nothing in semblance to the next gtr. Although it brings problems, I mean obviously you can tell they skipped a number there right. I mean yes ok, they've had G35 in the states and V35 in Japan out for some time now, but why retire and make a new model in all. Its not going to be a LM platform now, in fact the new gtr will be based on the FM platform if I have it right, meaning quite lengthy and big in stature. What I find odd is that they are still from what I now, going in the same direction and most likely WILL use r35. Since I work a part-time at nissan, I do what I can, but I can't guarantee Ill be able to find out what is going on with the names. I still don't have any freaking time to myself, to post new pics. Ive been in the process of getting a new comp, and Ive had no 'net access and most likely will not with what is going on now. I can't wait till summer again, to do all that I couldn't do this past summer. Hopefully by then, I'll have much more information to give out. This new model is expected to ship out in Japan early 2006, I know it's far away but just to hint at what's in store for 2006. It's expected to have some 300hp or so, but Im just putting out a vague but close estimation at its power figures. It's multilink suspension and high performance shocks all round for the next gtr, so that's quite good. Anyone who's interested please ask whatever is on your mind. I'll do my best to answer within my capacity, and there are no "dumb questions" so feel free to ask anything about the next skyline* and next r35gtr. *-Not the same thing, totally different models.

Wait, so the G will no longer be a rebadged Z? Thank God. A Skyline sharing it's entire platform with a Z car would have bugged the snot out of me, personally.

well it never quite was the same as the Z, but it was quite similar. Yes, I suspect that in "late" 2006, we will have the model here in the states with different distintion's to that of any other model, i.e.-not similar, its own style and grace or should I say its own persona. This actually benefits us, as well will be one step closer to the gtr. It goes down like this, 350z, V36 skyline, R35 GTR. I saw a press video of Carlos speaking, and he said that the gtr was to be the flagship of nissan in 2007, the "ultimate roadster and sport's car" while the 350z is the "sporty car" but still packing alot of spunk to it, yet it will not be as aggressive as the next gtr.

What do you mean? I absolutely hate the idea of the Z and the Skyline being the same platform, that's all.

I don't like the 8cyl idea either. It ought to stay an I6 twin turbo, but I can settle for a turbo Vsomething... just HAS to have boost or it's not... right...

Blah! Turbo is teh sex and we all know it.

Sorry, I'm a youngin, anything beyond R30 was just a museum piece to me... and the only R30 specimens are rare leftovers... R32 is really the first Skyline I know diddly about, sadly... and boost is part of that...

NA sucks, trust me, I drive it every day.

me- ::stomp:: doodeedoo SR20DE- ::vr.... vrr... OKAY, jack***, I'll accellerate::

it's all in the camshafts...

NA motors can have incredible powerbands when built properly...

but with most cars, unless it's VTEC (they still annoy me) you're gonna sacrifice low end for high end power or vice versa...

You just gotta get your rubberband wound up real good before you go anywhere

if you want FI and instant response, the supercharger is the way to go.

I was under the impression that V35 (really UA-CPV35) is the chassie code, and has no meaning whatsoever on the displacement of the car. If the next skyline/G35 is given the chassie code of V36, the respective models will probably still carry the same name. Much like the 240sx/silvia retained its name when the chassie was updated from the S13 to S14. And they will also probably have the same 3.5 liter V6, as the VQ35DE is nissan/infiniti's money maker (heck its availible in every single nissan except the sentra and titan).

Im very interested in what else you can find out. Any pics or info would be great. Im personaly hoping nissan will drop the GT-R bomb way early and catch all the other automakers with their pants down =)

In a nutshell, the next gtr will be separate from the Z, as the Z will still be on the LM platform, whilst the next gtr will not, nor the next skyline(separate). Both, the next gtr and skyline will share the FM platform along with the Fuga. I think its for the better really, as it will be wider and bigger. I do have a rumage of about 20 new spy pics of the gtr in testing, but I dont have a computer of my own now, using a relatives in fact, and as such I havent had time to post them on r35gtr.comI was planning on doing a new layout on the site with the new information Ive compiled, but mark needs to be online and he hasnt been from what I now. Im hoping he does go online soon, cause I want to get that crummy info which has been on the site since march off, and replace it with my new info on the upcoming gtr. I don't know about the gtr's engine choice, but im still leaning towards v-6, not v-8. Hopefully it will have some reminance of the I-6.

Also, the new Infiniti M45 will be disguised as the Nissan Fuga. It seems that Nissan will not be releasing the "R35" but it will most likely be Infiniti from what I can see. But then again, they did release the 350z and Carlos Ghosn said the next gtr would hit the U.S. and worldwide, problem is he didn't specify whether it was going to be under Infiniti or Nissan, but in Detroit he was representing Nissan not Infiniti so MAYBE it will be under Nissan.
