Be sure to check that the hose clamp where the Z tube ends and the MAF connects. There is a rubber flex tube there. I reused the hose clamp that was stock.

The problem is, that the hose clamp has rubbed a gash in the side of the tubing on the high pressure side of the AC tubing. It hasn't burst yet, but I would guess it's about 75% of the way through the wall of the tubing.

I spoke with my buddy at Nissan. He said the part isn't cheap, and it would be 3+ hours of labor.

It's something I will do myself, but it looks like a suckfest.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

wow that sucks!

On my Hemi Ram my intake tubing touched the AC hose my fix was to wrap the AC hose in foam and then electrical tape. When the tubing rubbed through the tape I'd just add more?

I think the Fujita misses everything else

That's a crappy oversight.

The line is a few hundred bucks and not an easy DIY. I have replaced a few of these and it requires Recover and Vacuum/Recharge equipment, and more patience than I know you have the lines are very malleable and irreparably bend very easily. That line runs from the compressor over the frame rail and behind the cowl to the evaporator. It also requires special tools to safely disconnect the AC lines.

I would rate this one at a 4 out of 5 if I were writing an article on this.

Ten cents of foam could have saved you from this problem, live and learn I guess...

Maybe you can put some JB weld in that area? keep it from becoming a hole. then wrap in foam or something.

That's not going to keep the line from rupturing. It may work as a temporary fix but that will not improve the overall integrity of the line. Depending on heat load and operating conditions the AC lines can hold some serious pressures. Average on the high side (the effected line) runs ~120psi while operating, depending on heat and humidity.

Next time, just throw acid in the wounds instead of salt.

I just don't want to see anyone else suffer the same problem I am having.

I'm just messing with you, the joy on the internet is the lack of sarcasm.

~Noah You really shouldn't have much of a problem (hopefully) if you leave the line alone. Don't touch it don't move it just leave it alone. If you bring it to me I'll fix it for you.
