i've been in contact with a guy by the name of Dean (senior sales) at Stillen!

i was asking him about any prefomance parts in R&D for the new B16 spec-v's, and sadly he says that nothing is gonna be available for awhile!

he tells me that there must be a substantial interest in the parts they currently have for our cars which is a front lip, crank pulley, injen intake, cat-back exhaust, 1 piece rotors (drilled) etc

so i thought i'd pass the word on so we could get some nice preformance producs for our rides!

he also said that once the interest in our cars go up that they'll be to take the car back in R&D and start producing of some higher end products i.e turbo kits, superchargers, piggy-back and standalone ecu's etc.

if you have any other questions let me know and i'll see if i can get an answer!

Not going for advertisement here at all, but...

I think it is dumb how they require so much attention to be brought to the car before they will make anything for it. I guess it makes sense in a point of they don't wanna waste their time making parts that they can't constantly sell. I'll make anyone a performance part high quality if they request it, and of course buy it. I just don't like how these bigger companies are just snobbed up on having to "have 20 buyers and we'll make you a rear spoiler" type thing.

ya i get what you're saying and ya it is stupid!

but yet they don't hesitate on making products for the z33 or z34! and that's whether or not there's a demand for the products!

i mean not everybody has those high range models! it's like they over look us mid-range tuners!

but oh well what can we do!

Does NISMO make performance parts for our cars anymore?

It must be a numbers thing. I haven't see many 07+ Se-r or spec-vs on the road. I wonder what % of Sentra's are S-er/Spec-vs.

Here in Toronto, I would say about 80% is made up of just the 2.0 and 2.0S - I hardly see any SLs and very few SER/SPEC-Vs. I think it's just a money thing, even though the Sentras are not expensive cars, the difference between a Base 2.0 and a SPEC-V is around $10k and that's before taxes and any options. I have the S but if I had an extra $10k under my mattress I certainly would have got the V

Now that i think about it, i have seen maybe one B16 SE-R ever on the road. The thing is, people with Z cars tend to mod them. There would be more demand for Z mods than an SE-R. As much as i love the SE-R it doesnt have as much draw as the RWD vehicles.

all im saying is i have a feeling that nissan is going to step there game up and here in the next few years there will be either a 2.0 turbo like everyone else or maybe a 2.5 to out do the srt4 and the new genesis so im just keeping my fingers crossed !! they have to do it sooner or later ...

The Caliber SRT4 is a joke, and the Genesis is RWD and, in general, not a competitor for the SE-R at all. Nissan ought to take aim at the Mazdaspeed3, GTI, and Civic Si. Right now really it's only the Si that competes directly with the SE-R/Spec V, but they're all close enough to consider.

I doubt the QR will be around after this generation. It's about 8 years old now, so it's lifecycle is about through. I wouldn't be surprised to see a more advanced NA 4cyl for the "B17" or whatever. Nissan seems to be avoiding turbocharging anything (except the GT-R), but maybe that will change.

The only thing the SI matches to the Spec V is price and parts. Otherwise stock for stock the SI is far inferior to the Spec. It's such a big difference that I have a hard time understanding why people buy Civics for performance.

The numbers are fairly similar from anything I've ever seen. 4 tenths slower to 60 is definitely noticeable, but not so far as to put it drastically behind a Spec, and certainly not to the average sport-compact owner. They definitely have similar handling characteristics (with a nod to Honda for using an independent rear suspension and weighing 300lbs less) and braking.

With similar numbers and the Civic having a better reputation (due in no small part to the issues with the B15 SE-R/Spec), I'm not at all surprised that the Civic is purchased for performance. The Si is still quite a good car.

Not that I'm here to rep Honda, obviously, but I don't think it's fair to say that it's a big difference at all.

I asked my dad about this a while back. The reason he gave me is that someone high up, don't remember who, does not believe in "performance" fwd cars. He also said Nissan takes all their cues from Toyota. So unless you see Toyota release something to rival the Civic or GTi, don't expect Nissan to.
