It has come to my attention that there is an overwhelming need for a financial organization to not only help would-be car buyers but hardworking salespeople who have to deal with lazy and/or incompetent finance officers. Now, I started selling cars in 1997 and I always liked to believe that if I could not sale the car to that customer, no one could. I found out tonight that my efforts are in vain if I do not have a finance manager that can get his job done. Now I've heard the tales from other salesmen but this is my first experience with having to tell a customer they couldn't buy only to find another way hours after they left the dealer. So I present this to you guys.

Rich guys...start a small financial group specializing in out-of-state finance. Get yourselves a number like 1-800-FINANCE or 1-800-APPROVED. Get yourself a website and charge salespeople a $5 membership fee. Explain to the salesperson at the first sign of an idiot finance manager call that number. I'll bet money that every salesperson would agree...they'd rather sale that car to you for a $1000 over invoice plus TT&L than to let that customer in front of them blow out. Cut them a check right then and there based on the invoice of the vehicle, and taxes and fess for that area of the country. You turn around and sale the car to their customer for $500-$1000 over your cost (charge them the same for TT&L) and transport, delivery and tire warranty...you're still sitting at a lower price than most dealers or a very comparable one. You're cutting out APR's and beacon scores and all that nonsense. The salesperson is happy because they saved a deal that otherwise would have been lost and the customer is happy because they got a great deal. Plus...to some customers it's not that important whether it's got 2 miles or 200 so in some areas you can cut out the transport all together and just pay a drive a $100 to get it there.

Now, of course you'll need to employ a few heavyhitters so when someone doesn't pay you can put the lean on them but don't worry about that. After you send them their girlfriends finger in the mail, they'll pay from then on out. I'm not rich and my credit won't allow me such a venture, but if any of you guys use my idea....hit a brotha off with a little bit of royalty.

*Note: This is not to be taken seriously. I'm just venting because my customer relied on me to give them a good deal and I looked like the bad guy. I hate that.

It's straight. I love Nissan's and I love being back at home. I turned around a three car day Friday and kicked my first ever 2004 Quest out Saturday. I'm just waiting to get well situated so I can start up a NICO-LA meet.

Jayson, I used to be in car sales and realized I was in a bad place when I had to work F&I harder than the customer. (probably my punishment for selling Hondas, huh?) They would only work hard on the little/ special finance deals when it wsa the end of month and they were under quota or penetration.

Dang, that sounds familiar. I can't legally go into a very disturbing deal I had Saturday. Let me just say that not only did F&I drop the ball...they ran from it like a little sissy girl. Not to dog all finance guys. Big up to don Repo and that Crazy Pakistani at Trophy Zaki Mohammed! One love.
