My KA is going to need some fairly extensive repair. How do other apartment dwellers work on their cars? Lately I have been using my parent's driveway but I can't lay my car up there for too long.

Usually, I try to spread a big project into a series of smaller projects that I can accomplish in one day time - and by end of day, I pack up and leave.

usually works most of the time.

Except I think I have a timing chain job coming up. I am not positive that is a one day job.

I have heard that some storage places let you work there. Anyone know anything about that?

I had to replace a water pump in my bmw once when it was parked by the curb. I just layed down a tarp in the trunk and put the taken off parts and tools in there.

storage places often let you do work but for an extra fee, and only if you rent an automotive storage space.

public streets and spaces can be a nuisance because some cops will ticket you for it (almost all towns have a statute against it, to prevent fluid spillage that will slick the roads for the most part).

A lot of car washes have a space you can rent for a certain amount of time often equpped with a hose and stuff for those who need a facility to wash their car. Sometimes they have either a simmilar spot for work, or just dont care what you use it for as long as you pay. You can also ask a local business to let you use a space in the back of their lot that they dont need or something (most places never fill ALL their spaces, especially in the winteR) for a small fee.

If you want to drive to Austin you can use my place to do the work. I built a lil shop and I have the normal stuff. Plus I can help you if you do it soon.

That's actually tempting Toshima. It would be a sure deal if you weren't some 4-5 hours away.

I use my parents garage (30 miles away), or for very minor jobs, I use my office's garage when no one's there on the weekends.

I just realised last night: "Why am I posting this to the National Nissan Forum?" I think I probably should be posting this to the local forums, maybe someone knows a local place that might rent out a spot for me (like storage maybe). Thanks for the help.
