I noticed that the old MSN 720 forum has been removed. This is extremely unfortunate, considering there was a wealth of information on it! Are there any newer posts here on the NICO forum that will cover the information needed for the 720 NAPS to KA swap? Now that I might finally be in the position to tackle this, the outrageous amounts of information I was going to rely on seem to be gone! Here's my situation:

85 720 2WD short wheelbase

I'm looking to go the simplest route, with just an KA24e from a hardbody.

From what I understand, the tank and the fuel pump can be used from a Z24i, which I have access to.

I will be capable of tackling any minor mount issues.

But, CPUs, harnesses, and the like? What exactly do I need? Will the stock 5 speed mount right up?

I know you've answered these questions several thousand times over, so where I could I find the info, if it exists anymore?

from what you've given... all you need to know basically is that you need the tranny out of the hardbody as well... a different driveshaft if they don't happen to be the same length.... and the ECU and harness will need to be the hardbody's...

ummm pretty sure you are wrong here pez... the ka bolts up to standard 5 sp 720's..... right? if you go to the "how to" section at ratsun.net, there is a stikied thread that is called how to swap ka, sr..... into anything, lots of great info there! wish we could get that coppied and brought to here, but not sure how to, w/o re wrighting all it myself

hmm... i think it may be in the bellhousing then... cause i'm pretty sure the tranny is not completely direct bolt up... a bellhousing swap isn't bad tho

well hopefully i can tell you for sure tomorrow as i am also doing the swap, and will hopefuly have a cherry picker tomorrow to pull out the old, and fit the new

well i am behind schedule, with work the gf and no cherry picker, i jus now got the tranny out! it does bolt directly up to ka24de...not sure about the ka24e tho.... but would think it has same as the de version.....
