Hey all, new to the board (not new to internet boards)

First off just want to say hi, and thanks in advance for the info I'm sure I'll get. A little background, I drive a 5.9L limited Jeep, but my father who just finished paying of his 05 TL got creamed by some woman who ran a stop sign. It should be totaled, but we won't know probably for the next couple days. No pictures, sorry (I was pissed too when I found out they didn't take any).

Anyway, both my parents have Acuras (my mother has an 07 MDX) at my recommendation, but I don't really have any brand loyalty issues. I flat out recommended my father avoid the 4th Gen TL's if he needs to replace his. For the same price I think the G37x is a much better package. I feel like you get more features for the same price, and better performance. He also doesn't like the size or the look of the new TL.

That said, I'm doing the intelligence gathering for the new car. I researched and ultimately got the prices we wanted on both Acuras, and am looking to do the same with the Infiniti should the TL be totaled. Normally my "research" phase would be much longer, but this is last second and hes going to need a car in the next few weeks.

We are looking to basically get a loaded G37x. Sport package, adaptive cruise, navigation, tech package. The little accessories is where we will probably skip out (IE illuminated door sills). The big question is what is the price going to be looking like for this? With the Acuras we were able to get the dealerships below invoice. How flexible is the pricing with infiniti? Preferbly we'd scoop up one of the last 2010 models on a lot.

Any and ALL advice is welcome. As I said this is last second, and I need to be caught up.

Thanks all,

Mike

I'm looking for a little feedback as to peoples experiences. I guess I'm curious how well the adaptive cruise control work, as well as the other features. Also interested in how the AWD handles snow.

Most important is what price people are getting these for. I've seen that I can expect to pay below invoice, and heard something about VPP but not quite sure how that works.

Okay in the snow its amazing i drove it in a foot of snow, then it started to get wore but heck for a coupe to perform like that is impressive. The cruise control is fine but i never use it, my car cost about 41,000

I've used the adaptive cruise a couple times in the wife's car that has the tech package and it works well. I usually turn the sensor way down (button on steering wheel) because the default setting will slow you down too early in my opinion.

Illuminated sills and such will come with the car if you have all the packages. Dealers usually package the cars with the sills (except for base levels), trunk net, etc. Infiniti Navigation kicks my Garmins azz. I like the MusicBox functionality as well. I don't have it in my coupe but that's OK as I have ipod capabilities.

I would strongly recommend the premium and navigation packages. The premium package includes many luxury items. Without it, the car is rather plain for the price. The best part of the navigation package is the rear view camera. Once you learn how to interpret the computer generated lines on the screen, you can back the car very accurately. The navigation system itself is well designed.

Personally, I have no use for the technology package or most of the other electronic nannies Nissan has developed. (I do like ABS and VDC.) The adaptive cruise works well enough on a straight road if you are lazy or inattentive. However, I don't like surrendering something as important as the throttle to a computer which is far from infallible. For example, suppose you start to pass a slower car and the cruise decides to drop the throttle because it thinks you are too close.

I have the 2010 sedan xs,had a 2008 coupe. Now the 2010 I got the Nav and to say it is awesome that is not
giving it enough credit, you can set up voice commands for phone, nav, audio and all at steering wheel
touch.

I thought about the Tech package but passed as well as adaptive cruise.

The big difference between the x and xs is larger tires,18 for xs 17 for x,better rims
and sport seats. The only thing missing is the larger brakes like the s models get,I don't
understand why they were not included.

Not a fan of the new Acura TLs design....and its not a RWD platform. (I know you can get AWD versions, but the engine is horizontally positioned). Anyway, I love my 09 G37S sedan! Not too many changes from 09-11 other than new exterior features. I love the nav (much better with the bypass mod) and the stereo HD is great once you fill it with CDs. It's a great car and I've had very few issues.
