So I have A trade pending. I am trading my 2 cars for one vehicle. And the other owner says I need to notarize my titles for the cars to be registerable to him. He lives in Pennsylvania and ilive in mass I just need to know if Pennsylvania needs titles that are being traded to infact be notarized. I was just talking to my dad and he also said that both parties of the sale need to be present as well. I'm just really confused about this whole notarization deal is all. Help would be much appreciated.

Notarizing the titles is required.

But both parties DONT have to be present in order to complete the transaction. If both parties had to be present imagine how hard buying a car online would be?

Okay and finally does the car need to be registered in my name for it to be notarized?

Well, if you have the bill of sale on the registration signed by the previous owner and notarized, you can register the car in your name. At that point, you can sign the bill of sale on your new registration and get that notarized. Then you can sell.

This is stuff you can google, man. Welcome to the internet.

A PA title must be notarized, but if your state does not require it for sale then to register it in PA it is not required.

Example last month I bough a motorcycle from NJ and I live in PA. All I needed was the signed title no notary. But when I sold my last car to the guy in NY we had to stop a notary to get it stamped before he went back to NY

So selling your 2 cars to time is no issue, however in order to title your new you will need notary.

So when you meet make sure you visit a notary pubic.
