Probably been answered before. So a few of you know I got very lucky and found someone on craigs list in my area selling z33 offset lmgt4s for 2k they were not bent and only had a very minor curb rash on one wheel that u cant really see.
I need to get new tires for the rear. Im debating on 255/40 265/40 265/35 and 275/35 which ones should I get and why.

can anyone tell me is 265/35/18 going to be good? or should I do 275/35/18 or 265/40/18 or 255/40/18? This is only for the rears they are 9.5 +30 18s I need to order new tires tomorrow preferable thanks in advance.

See what you like the best and do it. I'm personally gonna do sticky 255's all around. I may go a bit wider. I need to test fit the wheels again now that I have lugs.

How wide are your wheels? And what offset? I've got 18x9.5 in the rear and running 275/35 on them

I've got +40 in the rear, but added a 5mm spacer, so essentially a +35. I did have to roll the fender. But go with a 265, or as Ace said, a 255, and the stretch you will get should tuck you nicely.

Thanks, right now its a 255/45/18 on the rear it is very stretched and very tall lol.

The thing with the stretching is better handling but if I get a flat tire there will be no protection for the rims. thats a bad thing. with a I think max tire width on a 265 technically is 10.0 so the 265 should stretch a little and give me some room to lower the rear a little in the future when I get coils. with a 275 I think that is going to bubble out too much. With a 9.5 +30 you are very very flush so your going to either need to strech the tire or roll the fender a little if you lower the car.

Assuming the camber is isn't off after lowering.

Mine is very low, and the 275 doesn't rub at all and the sidewall is straigh. It's perfect IMO. Checkout my thread in my sig and you can see pics.

FYI, stretching doesn't improve handling. It's for looks only. Think about it, the more Tread on the road, the better the handling.

ok i didnt know that ziggy thanks. Do you think the difference of +35 offset yours. and +30 offset mine same width 9.5. Mine will stick out a couple millimeters more. knowing how close yours is and having to roll the fender. 275 might be just like a mm or somting to big for me. But that helps alot so I know 265 will work perfect now. Ill check out your thread.

Yeah, do the 265/30 and you may not need to roll the fender. Should suit you fine.

Your offset would be the only thing holding you back from 275's, I run them on my rear 8.5's and they are nearly straight flush with the wheel, wheels/tires just inside the fenders.

Nice, my 2 cents... The sidewall may be a bit tall. Google that tire size and look for pics of cars running that size

found another Z with same rims and tires. rears are 265/35/18 Except he put 255 front... looks too small and bubled. ill do 235/40/18 which will fit just like the rears slightly streched and pretty much same size sidewall. I dont like really low profile tires they look cool. but they ride rough and easyer to bend your rims if you hit a put hole or somthing. http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/f ... e-too.html

Don't go too big of a stagger, your handling will suffer.

Are you replacing the fronts as well or just the rears? I'd get the same make and model tire as the front, in a size appropriate for your wheels.

this is what the car looks like now.. 245/40/18 +25 8.5 Front... 255/45/18 + 30 9.5 rear Just replacing the rear right now since my money is low.. but as you can see in the pic the rear tires are way tooo big. The front tires are slightly too big.

So yeah it will look pretty gangsta when i get the right size tires on it lol. :bigthumb:

Rear tires are too tall (as you know), should be a 35 profile on a 255. A 255 replacement would give you the best handling, and probably cost the least of the the sizes mentioned.
