If you have aftermarket wheels, you need hub-centric rings.

You need to have the wheel/tire assy checked on a Hunter road force diagnostic.

You need to check to make sure all tires are seated properly on the wheels

You need to check for an out of round tire

You need to check for a bent wheel(s)

You need to maintain same air pressure you were using before(you DID maintain proper inflation, didn't you??)

This way you can eliminate as many variables/obvious causes as possible, and then be able to notice the difference between the old tires, and the new tires.

Every tire acts differently. This new tire is probably transmitting more road activity to the driver. Maybe they're just in need of match mounting on the Hunter machine. <--many cars have I fixed by doing just this

do you see any weights on the outside of the wheel? some wheels only take them on the inside. this is fine because any nice wheel balancer like a hunter dsp unit can dynamic balance with stick on weights. the problem is some doofusses at my shop and prob many more dont like taking the time to use stick on weights. solution, switch to static balance. static balancing sucks. i would watch them do it and make sure they are doing it right.

oh, and check the fitment. if you dont have hub centric rings or better yet hub centric wheels your in trouble.

what exactly are hub-centric rings, and when do you need them?

The rings keep the wheels centered on the hub while the lugs are torqued down. That way they don't slip out of allignment and start vibrating. If this did not happen with the last set of tires, I'd say something is going on with the new tires. I agree on the Hunter balance suggestion. You likely have a tire with excessive road force variance ( a hard section in the tire that resists flexing more than the rest of the tire). If it's only happening at a set speed and higher, that would be my guess.

I would bank on a bent wheel.Last 3 customer ars I';ve had come bakc for vibes because "the new tires arent ballanced" turned out they have a bent wheel, and since the tire assembly as a whole wants to be round, the old tires wore "with" the wheel, where new ones will just exagerate tthe bend until they get worn in.

check everything smith SR said, without seeing the car we cant really tell you right offhand whats causing it.-chet
