I finally bought the wheels I wanted and have been searching for tires, no I didn't get them at the same place since I am going to be using the tpms sensors out of my existing wheels. Anyways..been looking at tires and I am seeing alot of names that I don't normally see as the new tires I am looking at will have to be slightly low profile...can anyone suggest or recommend one over the other and or some to completely stay away from?

I am seeing ...NexenSunnyKumhoWanliNankangSumitomo...as some of the less expensive(cheaper) ones...

In my experience, Kumhos wear quickly and unevenly, and lose their grip atabout 50% tread remaining.

Dunno anything about those other brands, but have you looked at BF Goodrich? They've got a couple good sport tires in appropriate sizes for the V.

I guess I should mention that I bought 18's and that I am looking at 225/40r18...I am willing to go to a 215..but that size actually seems pricier...

try falken, i use that exact size for my front wheel 225/40/18, and for the rear 235/40/18.
