I have a 2004 Xterra and it has about 45,000 on the original tires. I'd like to put a little taller tire on it whenI replace them, but don't really want to go to the expense of changing to the taller rims used on the SE model. Does anyone have a recommendation on a tire size that will work in all turning circumstances? I don't need any rubbing since I do a fair amount of tight 4 wheeling in it.

This may help..I know it's for frontiers, but you can get a good idea of what some others are running on the stock rims.

Post up what size rim you have. You can do a little t-bar crank for an extra inch to level the truck out and probably fit 32" tires on there.

265/75R16 on stock 16" rims won't rub if you trim the mud flaps. 31.7" diameter

32x11.5 R15 on stock 15" rims won't rub if you trim the mud flaps. 31.8"

Nissan 15" rims will fit on all '00-04 Xterras, even though tire dealers sometimes say they won't.
