So, this forum has been slowing down (dont know if its possible to slow from a stop so in an effort to revive it how about a little Q and A for everyone. just pick one or 2 of your favorite tires and answer the questions! pretty simple.

What tires have you used?

did you like them?

how predictable were they?

would you use them again?

Car is an s12 200sx with a KA24DE.

For the fronts I run 14x7 wheels with falken azenis RT215 tires. 195/60/14. You can get them on ebay for $60 shipped previous generation azenis. I LOVE THESE TIRES. SOOO much front grip. Car goes exactly where I want it to.

and in the rear I run 15x7 wheels with whatever I can find. I currently have a set of Falken Ziex 512. Generally run a 195/60 or 50/15 in the rear. My friend works at Ford and one of the focus's comes with the Falkens so there's generally afew of them laying around. I work at Nissan and just grab whatever 15's are laying around. I've tried Bridgestone Potenza RE92's and Michelin MXV4's. I like both of those as well. I'm excited to see how the falkens perform at this weekend's event. I've found all these tires to be pretty predicatable. I've also used some crap no name things and they suck. But I'm not good enough to tell the difference between the Bridgestones or the Michelins.

I've also heard good things from Mattback (enjuku driver) about the Kumho 711's. If I ever decide to stop being cheap and buy rear tires I'll try out a set of these.

i might as well answer my own questions haha

Ive used a very...wide...range of tires considering i work at a performance shop. ill just pick 1 for now

Hankook Ventus K104

Overall for the money they were a pretty decent tire. i ran them on the front of my car for a few grip weekends then finished them off in the rear with drifting. for drift they were pretty predictable meaning they didnt get greasy till the very end of a 20 min session. they lasted a surprisingly long time for the price. i was pleased with that. no real problems with chunking eithre. only the standard hamburger meat look after a long drift session. i would probably use them again.

haha since we're the only ones in this thread Kamin, I'll add some more... after driving a practice session at the track last night with the Potenza RE92's in the rear, wow what little grip you have. But lots of smoke! And they lasted 3 or 4 runs at high speeds around the oval before delaminating (which isn't bad for used tires). Overall, I wish they had more grip (I couldn't accelerate through the corner, I just smoked the tires like crazy) but they're a pretty good tire. I get to do another demo friday night so I'll test out the falken's then

Can't go wrong with Azenis ST115's, they're like the standard for drift tires. I also like those Federal SS595's or whatever they're called. RT-615's are nice as well as the RT-215's but too bad they're discontinued. I also had a chance to do a couple runs with my friends Advan Neova AD07's and thet're were f*cking amazing!
