Didn't see the "snow" part in the first post, but in Texas I use Goodyear Assurance ComforTreds. Good middle of the road tire, no real complaints. They grip well enough and wear well enough that I have no complaints. They could be better but then I could have spent more.

Now as for winter driving, Tirerack.com gave them an "excellent" rating for snow, but no experience here.

Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S or Bridgestone Potenza RE950's are good high performance all season tires. If you're on a budget, the Yokohama Avid TRZ and Kumho Solus KH16 are both reasonably priced and did very well in various tests. Here is a link to the tireracks test results for the budget all season tires. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...z.jsp

If you decide to look for just winter tires. I have heard nothing but praise about Bridgestones Blizzak lineup.

I had the Yokohama Avid Touring (TRZ's predecessor) before the Goodyears. For dry and wet they are similar tires.

I have Bridgestone Potenza RE950's on my 7 spokes. In the beginning of last winter I was running Deltas or whatever came on the car, and they sucked. I don't know how the Bridgestones are compared to others, but they were a MAJOR improvement over the old rubber. I'm really not looking forward to commutes in the snow this year...

I also use my [new to me] 240SX as a daily driver. It won't see much snow, that's what the Jeep's for... But I just ordered these Falkens - We'll see how they do, but the price was right...

i doubt my 240 will ever see snow again.. right now, im on a set of Michelins and will be receiving some more Michelins. i have heard that the Sumitomo's are excellent tires, for the money.
