i have some 16x7 rims and i need to get new tires. right now i have 205/55/16, i as planning on getting some 215/50/16, what is the widest tire i can put on my rims?

225/50-16 is really not bad.245/50 is what some people might do, but that will actually cause you to lose traction.

i have 225/50/16 on a 16 x 7.5, itd probably work fine on yours, or the 215 would be good also

i have 215/45 on a set of 17x7's on one of my cars, extremely flush, i like them, but they will not protect your rims if you TOUCH a curb too hardi will also be going with 215/45/17 on my 240 cause they are SO close to stock diameter and very flush

yes that works fine, there is only one model of tire on tire rack that comes in 215/50/16, That's the size I wanted, but nowhere carries it.
