Yeah, but what is the offset on your rims? Are you hanging out of the wheel well at all now?

those are going to be some tall tires! you might want to go 225/45 and 245/40 that will give you a more level stance. Unless you are going for the raked look....

225 on a 7 and 245 on a 8 are going to be a lot of tire to wheel...

I have not seen the Tire Rack site, but the 225/245 are on the large side for your wheels. In reality, the tire should come in about 1/2" smaller than the rim width, unless you are trying to stuff as much tire on the wheel as you can. That is not good for performance or handling. A 205 or 215 is perfect for a 7" rim, and a 225 is perfect for an 8" rim. No real need to go wider than that, unless of course, you want to stuff as much tire on the wheels as you can. In which case go for it.

that is what my initial thoughts were of 7in and 8in wide rims. the tire rack site must of confused me. i guess i'll stick to my 215/50 and 225/50 setup

I'd do 205/55 and 225/50. What brand of tires did you run in 215/50? I didnt think there were many...
