What tires do you recommend for a G35 sedan with sports tuned suspension, 215/55/17. I'm looking for high performance or ultra high performance, wet and dry with good handling and relatively quite Also V speed rating or better and i really don't want to spend more than $175 right now im looking at buying Yokohama AVID V4s. Thanks for your recommendations

Just put Avids on my wife's G. She recently took it on a trip. Said they were great! Oh, and got our Nissan dealer to match Discount Tire's out-the-door price.I think it was $709

I just put Kumho Ecsta SPT's on my G 235/45/17 size.

I love them they are 320 durometer AA traction A temp and speed rated to 168 mph. Out the door for under $600 at discount tire.

I've had Kumho Ecsta STX's before on my Hemi in 285/60/18 twice and they were awesome then too.

When I tire shop I look for two things traction and handling, you usually trade noise and wear for them. The Kumho's on my Ram lasted about 18,000 miles but I did like to brake stall and put on a smoke show at stop lights. And they do make a little more road noise then the stock Goodyear RS-A's. Really the only thing bad I can say about them is they follow grooves in the road. Its not bad you just can't sleep while driving fast on uneven roads.

Go to Tirerack.com and Buy General Exclaims UHP.

They are sick. Buy the 245 45 17. That is the same size i had on my Lexus Is 300. IT made the car dive like it was on rails. I love them. They look sick and i got about 38k miles out of them... I love to do burn outs lol.

In the rain it was like you were on a dry track. The best part is that they are really Cheap. Right now you can get each tire for 86 dollars. $344.00 for four tires. Shipping is like 40 dollars for 4 tires. Best part is there is no tax unless you live i think in Georgia. Then you just find a shop on the web site that will put them on the car for you. I know i got mine put on the car for 12 bux a tire

350 for the tires, 50 for shipping, 60 to get them on the car. 460 out the door.

You will 100% satisfied.

If that is to much work to order and take the tires some where to have them put on then go where you want.... but still buy the Generals.

Take a look at them online and let me know what you think of the tire.

They are the Number 1 rated tire on TIRERACK.com in their UHP Catagory

The kumho's are nice but they wear out too fast.

DJ

I know when my Tires ware out i will be buying the generals and get rid of the BFG's that suck and are loud.

Also good advise,

You trade wear for traction the UHP's are AA traction the Kumho's are AA. The Kumho has 3 unbroken belts of rubber running the around the center of the tread the UHP's have a V belt pattern. Both are great tires but the Kumho's will hook up slightly better at the track where the UHP's will last longer. This is also noted in the durometer rating of 320 for SPT's and 360 for UHP's.

I considered the UHP's and Falken 512/912 before buying the Kumho's. I could get the UHP and 512/912 for about $500 out the door but the Kumho's were about $70 more and had a little bit better traction.

The Falken's also were only A traction rating but cheap cheap cheap!

I don't mind having tires put on every 20k miles. You may get 30k miles out of the UHP's.

Discount tire will match tirerack and other online prices. Bring in a print of the ad to get the price.

I just put Goodyear Eagle GT II's on my wifes Sequoia yesterday 275/60/17 size for $118 a tire

Go 245 45 17... They fit and it will keep you from curb rash on your tires. If you have a female driving this will help you a lot

LOL

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Yes I did put them on the stock 17" rims but my rims wer 17x8.5"? Mines an 07.

The tire shop tried to talk me into 245/55/17 I wish I would have bought 245/45/17! The 235's are great but I can still spin the tires pretty good and they break loose sometimes on the 1-2 shift.
