ok so its time. i need new tires. right now i have 205/55/16 Pirelli's on there, now i want wider and better i am thinking of going with 225/20/16 tire. so far i am looking at Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 or BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD. Anyone have any ideas for me. By the way i living in San Diego so no rain or snow for me :) also will that size tire fit? fit on all 4 or should i just get the wider for the rear and get a 205/50/16 for the front? look good with the lower profile or should i go with the 55 or will i even notice? thanks alot

I HOPE this is a mistype, 225/20/16 won't fit, not only will it look like ***, but you will pop all 4 tires at any bump.

215/50/16 would be ideal, wider in the back doesn't necessarily mean better grip.

hmmm i've had 225/50/16's on my stock se wheels for a while now ~24-26k miles without any problems at all (potholes love me:))

When i went to the track, I threw some 245/45/16's on there without any problems either. they were nitto drag radials.

I think you'd be more than okay with 225/50/16's on there.

S3 is right though, wider tires will not necessarily give you better grip. It all depends on compound and suspension setup.

i dont think they make a 20 profile tire, the lowest ive seen is a 35. A 30 may be in existance, but that would be very painful and .....idunno but there is no way a 225/20/16 exists, the car would have to be raised up an inch or more to even acomodat it.
