Pilot sports are good but bring a premium. I've had good luck with Kuhmo ASX and the Hankook Ventus I have on my G sedan seems to do pretty well.

I have an 01 GLE, with 16" and purchased Korean made Nexan's after hearing decent reviews. Two independent Goodyear stores locally also recommneded them. I don't drive this max too much, but after a year, so far so good.......$365 total mounted, balanced, installed. Beats the $800+ for the Dunlops I put on my 06 Max!

It depends on the mileage you do, the kind of roads you drive on, the weather you are exposed to, the performance you are looking for, etc... Consider something like one of these:

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S PlusBridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole PositionYokohama ADVAN S.4.

I ran Falken ZE512s on my Maxima years back. They were excellent in the dry and unbelievable in the wet. They were even pretty decent in the snow. Treadlife is pretty short, though...I barely got 20,000 miles out of my set on the Max.

Matt, are you running the Ventus V12s? After the C&D competition results, I've been thinking about a set of those for the Lincoln.

I only used Michelin tires 'til early 2000. Very good traction in dry weather but scary during rainy days. I don't know how much improvement they have done over the years. Since then, I've used Bridgestone Potenza, Yokohama Avid, and Falken Ziex (Falken Sincera is no good) with very good results. I even now have Kumho Ecsta SPT in the M35 - very good dry/wet traction but a bit noisy compared to other tires.
