so i was changing the steering boots on the baby and when i took off the front left tire, i saw the white braids on the inside of my tire. obviously alignment is needed, but now tires are also needed. i have 2002 spec v rims on her and factory size was 215/45/17. after reading chet's sticky, ive decided to stick with the factory size since the smaller sidewall or wider width would prove pointless and maybe even more costly. the real question is what to get? they came with continental contisports but after seeing them torn up after about 15K, i think ill try a different brand. im leaning towards fuzion since the wallet is kinda dry, but im open to all suggestions. i live in south florida so wet traction is a big concern for me. any suggestions?

The Kuhmo MX are regarded as good budget tires...

The OEM Continental tire has, IIRC, a very low wear rating. This isn't to say that you don't need an alignment to prevent future uneven or severe wear, but other Nissans also suffer from speedy tire wear(not to be confused with the factory alignment settings on the G35/350z) The trade-off is the superior grip you get, over the shorter useful mileage.

Nissan uses as OEM on many cars, a very grippy, very short lived tire. If memory serves, the 350z OEM Bridgestones are a 140 wear rating. This delivers excellent performance advantage over the competition, and helps keep the Nissan name hand in hand with performance. It just costs more to the customer to maintain the as-new performance levels..

I agree with IveBeenBad, the Mx is a solid replacement choice.

both would be a step down from MX's, if u don't need maximum dry grip traded for some wet trac. and ride comfort check out ES100's, G-force Sports or Avon M500's, all are around 100.00 @ tirerack.com .

well just to update yall, i decided to go with the falken azenis st 115. y u say, well the price was 89 a pop and the tire store is literally behind my house. only needed two tires and the treadwear on these are 360. they will b mounted on sat as well as the car gettin a well deserved alignment. i also figured out why the alignment was off to begin with. the 20 inches of snow that the car saw on the highway last feb most likely thru off the alignment. lol. anyway, any thoughts on the falkens that im getting?
