the size I need is 215/40/17... i went and looked at Federal SS595 tires, they looked alright, but then someone told me they suck...

Tread wear and traction would be my main concerns, as I store the car in the winter...

What are you guys using that is working well??

Thanks,

Chris

in a 215/40/17 a good "cheap" tire would be a Kumho 712 for summer only use, or a Yokohama Avid H4S if u need a little snow traction, both are under $100.00 US @ tire rack

I was looking for tires about two weeks ago. I settled on an off brand of Bridgestone called Widetrack HR. I'm pretty sure they make them for your size, don't quote me on it though. But anyway, they were an affordable price (for a sensible performance tire that you can drive with every day and not have to worry about wearing them down) and have awesome traction, cornering, etc. I've had them for a while now and Its damn near impossible to get them to spin, even with my new vlsd. But if you're looking for something that will perform (and wont go bald quick like falcans) I reccomend the Widetrack HRs. Oh, and they're directional! yay! If you're having a hard time finding them, try Tires Plus.

I have 205/50/15 azenis on my stock rims. Speedo's a little off but its way way way worth it.

Despite what people say, I have not had a hard time in the rain with the azenis. And I have not had horrible wear problems at all. Grip is amazing for $62/tire.

Azenis aren't bad in the rain...it's the standing water that will get you ;)
