I'm working on a deal with a friend of my brother to buy the wheels from his 300Z TT, 16 x 7.5 front and 16 x 8.5 rear.

But... what tires should I get?

Per tirerack figures, the total diameter of stock Q45 tires is 26", while the recommended 300Z TT sizes are 25" front (225/50/16) and 24.6" rear (245/45/16). Most tires in 300Z sizes don't have a sufficient load rating either.

I don't mind going a little smaller in total diameter, but don't want to over do it.

My best guess right now is that a good target size is 225/55/16 front and 255/50/16 rear.

On the bright side... my beloved Yoko AVS Int are on sale in stock 300Z TT sizes for $60 each. Is a 1 to 1.5" drop in diameter a problem performance-wise? I know the speedometer will read a little high, but always reads high (cause I drive fast!!).

245/50/16 [95V] or 255/50/16 [97V] all around so you can rotate.Hopefully you can find another 2 16x8 to have equal wheels on all locations.

I don't mind rotating from side-to-side via dismount/remount. Trying not to buy super premium tires, so I won't feel bad if they wear out a little faster without being able to rotate front to rear.

Guess I could put the 16 x 8.5 in front, but would be strange....

I've got 7.5s all around, with 245/50 16s. Works great- no contact, awesome handling.

Yoko AVS dBs... around $110 per if i recall. 96 load rating (again from memory)

Glenn in seattle (Gksea) has 16x8.5s with the 255s. I think Landtodd is doing the same.

My only comment on the dismount and rotate is that it can be a PITA to do, and therefore might not get done. I blow through tires so fast, that I usually only get a few rotates in anyway.

The 245 was the upper limit for me on the 7.5s...If they were 8, the 255 would be good. Aesthetically (or performance wise) I can't see any reason NOT to go with 8.5s front and rear, and 255 all around- simplifies life, adds traction and load capability to that heavy front end... now, if you don't have a line on a set of 4 that's another story...

Well, I've decided not to get the 300Z TT wheels since I had my alignment checked again today and the left rear camber is still slightly off, even after replacing another control arm. (Hit a curb after spinning on ice one month after I got the car... Jan. 2000). The only way to fix it is to replace the hub (or spindle?) and that's a big project... tires barely wore funny before, and now they'll hardly wear funny at all, but hate to invest in lower profile tires which will wear funnier to begin with.

I've got the camber set to exactly zero, but it should be 1 degree negative (or something like that). (It was one 1 degree positive before today, looked kinda funky).

Anyhow.... any body else interested in the set? I'm just trying to help a friend of my brother's sell them. They're located in Newport News, VA. Don't have pics yet. Price would be maybe $600 for the set?? (we never agreed on final price)

E-mail me if you think you might be interested and I can get more details, pics, etc.
