After 40,000 miles, I have worn out the original Goodyear RS-A tires. I am pricing replacements and found that a set of RS-As is going to run $1,200. I am looking for an alternative, especially since the RS-As don't have a great reputation. Any advice would be appreciated.

RS-A's suck. I would check out the "Which tires do you have on your maxima/I30/I35" thread for reviews on different tires. I personally run Yokohoma AS-430's and I love them.

Are you aware that there was a recall for the OEM Eagle RS-A's on '04 and '05 Maximas? A lot of people had problems with the tires, such as cracking sidewalls. My dad's '04 had the problem and he was reimbursed fully for the tires. His tires went bad very early on, though, and he had to have them replaced. I'm not sure what they'd do for you with 40,000 miles and no issues, but it may be worth looking into.

Thanks for the reply. I had the same problem early on and got free replacements as well. Out of curiousity, what tires is your Dad running on the Maxima now?

He's actually just getting ready to replace his second set of RS-As as well. I'm not sure if he's decided what to replace them with though.
