I have rims that are 18x7.5 with an offset of 42. I was wondering what tire sizes other people are using for their altimas. I was thinking of 225/45/18 or 225/40/18. Which size is more preferable for daily commuting/safety and better treadlife? Or are there better sizes? Thanks for your help!

I think 225/40/18 will give you the closest to stock diameter.

I believe that size is harder to find though.

A lot of people use 225/45/18. I had that setup as well.

18 x 7.5 is stock 09-10 AC 3.5SE/SR wheel size. +45 is stock offset.

OEM Tire on AC SE/SR is a 215/45-18 (this is also the least expensive tire size compared to the others mentioned in this thread). Many people run 225/45-18s on 18x8s, so to keep from having a "fat" tire look, I'd go with 215/45-18s on an 18x7.5. for a little extra tire sticking out from the lip of the wheel, goo with 225s.

You could go with a 40 series tire, but it's a bit thinner sidewall. I wouldn't go with anything less than a 40, cause it'll look like you jacked civic wheels/tires for your altima and it'll make the whole wheel/tire setup look like wagon wheels.

hope that helps.
